It is not rhetoric but scientific evidence: the diet based on fruit and vegetable products is fundamental to preserve our health from certain, sometimes very serious, risks. Today we use our blog to make information.

Information, mind you, and not scaremongering. All the media for days have been talking about an important research carried out by the American University Tufts, according to which the insufficient daily intake of fruit and vegetables causes the death of 2.8 million people every year for heart disease and stroke.

Recently presented at the American Society for Nutrition congress, the research showed a clear correlation between cardiovascular mortality and fruit and vegetable intake. According to the results, one-seventh of the world’s deaths due to heart disease and stroke would be closely linked to a reduced daily consumption of fruit, a twelfth of the same deaths would instead be attributable to low vegetable consumption.
We at Gullino, as a fruit producer and exporter, believe it is our social responsibility to inform our readers about some less positive evidences than those generally dealt with on the blog.
